On Saturday, March 14th a special event is being hosted by the Augusta Heritage Foundation to celebrate the history, and invest in the preserving the legacy of the Augusta Harmonie Verein/American Legion Hall — a historic community building located at the corner of Church and Hackman Roads in Augusta, Missouri.
The building has a rich history dating back to the Harmonie Verein – a German musical/cultural society that existed from 1856 to 1922. Over the years, the property has provided a venue for countless community events and social gatherings. For the last four and a half years dedicated citizens in the community have been working toward preserving and renovating the site as a Cultural Arts Center. As such, it is hoped the property will continue to promote and showcase Augusta’s historical, cultural and community amenities for decades to come.
On Saturday, March 14th, the public is invited to be part of a special celebration that will showcase the facility’s 150 year history, provide an overview of the current status and vision for the future, and an opportunity to share ideas and resources for erasing debt. The evening will include appetizers, cash bar, music and dancing featuring the Texas Giants.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Please join us!
